Personality: Although Nina is by default a nice and gentle person to the average bystander, she has in her times shown to be a very angry character when certain situations arise, such as Al-Qaeda and the 9/11 attacks. Also, she will only put up with various idiotic aspects in people to a point where she starts to threaten to use her Hokaku skill if they don't shut up or stop. She also has apparently acquired a taste of liquor in moderation, as mentioned in Part 6 and later seen in Part 7. She inherited this quality from her friend Rinpoo, who is apparently a superior drinker to her. She also has a deep rooted fear of the dark omen surrounding her wings. She has not lived a perfect life since she was exiled from her home kingdom by her parents to be saved from the backlash of the curse. She is feared by many of her own people and furthermore by many in the Misfits' world. She also has a deeply-rooted rage which only comes out when she is overwhelmed, such as when she almost kills Jackson in Part 6.

Biography:

The Beginning of an Era:

Although she is the oldest princess of her tribe, and her own homecountry, Nina is not by any means considered ready by most to do the task. When she was born, it was revealed her wings were black instead of the usual snow white color of the rest of the Fae tribes. An omen had spread a long time ago: "One who is born with the black wings will one day bring ruin to the kingdom of Windia." Because of this omen, her stepmother and father immediately knew she would not live a normal life. Their options were that they either had to send her away to special friends in the world to be raised, or be destroyed in order to ease the people.

Her parents chose the former, and Nina's father was greatly resentful of the decision, knowing she would not grow in the manner he had wanted her to, but he knew he would rather she live than die. For nearly 18 years, Nina grew up under the special care of one person to another, until she moved out on her own to the town of Hometown on the western continents. While younger, and to her current age, Nina became fascinated with the spectacles of magic, and learned many powerful offensive spells, mixed with a defensive spell here and there. It was when she finally turned 18 that her true adventure into life had began. Nina had also a younger sister who had been apparently used as bait to lure her into a partnership with a strange character known as Joker. In the chaos that followed, Nina met with several new friends: Ryu the boy with a hidden power of the Dragons, Rinpoo the Furen woman of great strength and speed, and Rand of the Shell clan who's towering vitality and defense proved vital. The four of them found and confronted Joker, who revealed himself to be a semi-powerful demon which had given the group a scuffle. Nina herself however had managed to fatally wound him by causing a stalagmite to fall down and impale him through the head, when some of her magic wouldn't hurt him much.

From there on, she would help her three friends, and more, a Plainsrunner known as Boche, a Simafort clan member known as Tepeta, and Highfort clansman known as Sten, and a Grassman clan member known as Aspara in their deepening quest to put an end to the ironically sacrilegious efforts of the church of Eva, and their patron god, St. Evans, who had been later revealed to be a horrifyingly powerful creature called DeathEvan. During the chaos that ensued, Nina had to remeet with her stepmother and father when she discovered he had fallen ill. Nina had decided to undergo a personal test to become a powerful creature of the Fae known as the "Great Bird". She managed to pass the trials with good marks, and even had a strange encounter with her great-grandmother, also by the name of Nina. It was through this Nina learned that she might not be a full Fae, and she theorizes this might be the true reason of her black wings. However before she can use the Mark of the Bird to transform, her younger sister Mina steals the mark and undergoes the ceremony in her place, believing Nina still had much to play in the shaping of the universe, as she had put it. Nina was also haunted by the death of Rand's mother Daisy as she held together a powerful crushing wall to save her and the others from a trap near the end of her journey. One final experience was the battle with DeathEvan himself. Although there is no proof, Nina had widely believed she had died once in the battle, only to be resurrected soon after.

2 years following the final defeat of DeathEvan, Nina continued to be a drifter in many ways. Although she was considered welcome in her kingdom by her parents and royal allies, most of the local Fae tribes were still scared of her curse bringing forth doom to their country, and Nina was well aware of this. She had decided a soul search was necessary to learn her truer purpose that her sister had told her about. Within this soul search, Nina had come upon a strange singularity near the town of Gate. The reason this gate was present is still unknown even to this day, but Nina had stumbled upon the gateway. Although she had not intended to enter it, it suddenly began to draw in air and she found herself flying through the portal into the unknown.

Upon her arrival, she found herself in an environment which proved to be advanced somewhat beyond the usual technology of her own world and her homecountry. For many days she wandered the strange locale she found herself at, and soon learned she was in a "City" known as Canton. After some more wandering, she came upon a boy of around 17 years of age who had been planning to move from his house, due to the declining overall conditions of the city. His name was Glenn Cox, and it was an ironic twist of fate that Nina would later on meet one of his own friends less than a year later. Glenn had given her his family's house, telling her that she would not have to worry about raising the money to keep the place running. His family had apparently won the lottery, and had given Glenn a share of the money, which he had given some to Nina to give her a head start. He had also mentioned she seemed 'familiar' to him, and that things were going to become 'wild' for both of them someday down the road. Nina accepting Glenn's house, eventually leading her to also adopt a cat she called Oscar.

However with her new home came a strange sense. She was drawn to a specific location merely a couple of weeks later. Following upon this intuition, she would find a place known as Canton South High School, and it would be in there she would meet seven more of who would be her friends, and probably which helped pave the way to history as we know it. She had first met a strange paraplegic boy named Alex Binder, his best friend, the tall and wide-headed Jason Changet. She then met the odd and creative boy Clint Walker and their friends Devin Morris and Vernon Tyler. Then she finally met the genius Sophomore Dan Laubacher and his loud-voiced and popular friend Dusty Fausnight, the very same boy who had formed a crush on her from first site. Although she did not understand why she was interested to these seven in particular, she would soon began to come back to the school day after day to meet with them, to the point she had offered to become an aide to the many teachers in the school to give her a legitimate reason to go there. After some amount of time, Nina had managed to bring the seven into a closer-knit friendship with one another, although there were obviously conflicts presented by the situation.

However along with meeting her new friends, she would gain who was probably her most hateful nemesis, a Freshman boy of 16 known as Jackson McCarakins. It was due to his snide and racist nature that Nina had become labeled a 'freak' by the majority of the lower school body due to her unnatural height of 6 feet and 6 inches, and the two huge wings on her back, which she learned long back after her arrival were considered unorthodox by any who she met. Despite Jackson and his yesmens' harassment, she lasted out the remainder of that school year, and giving Alex a special out-of-school present, but using one of her rare healing magics to alter the functions of his brain synapses, effectively ridding him completely of his cerebral palsy. Although he never thanked her in front of anyone else, he had called her one time to thank her in private for the occasion. Over a period of three months, the eight would meet up at various times and they soon developed a name for themselves as a whole, "The Misfits". Although not intentionally named after the macabre band of the same name, the eight of them knew it made much sense for them. Soon when the next school year began, they would meet Virgil Jones, another socially low character in the school chain. Jackson also learned Alex had been healed, and was royally pissed, having the belief that once one is a freak that they remain a freak for the remainder of their lives. Nina had effectively destroyed some of his credibility by healing Alex.

The Misfits:

Prologue and Saga 1:

Soon, their lives would take the ultimate turn, when Clint had managed to win a special contest provided by a cartoon channel known as "Toonami". Their prize was a trip to Japan for the winner and 7 of their friends. Although he asked all eight of this friends, Virgil had refused to go, Nina accepted, as did Vernon, Alex, Devin, Jason, Dusty and Dan. Soon, they would be sent to Tokyo Japan, to the ward of Shibuya-ku. On their vacation, after some minor trips on the side, they soon went to a special movie which would explain the origin of anime, a subject that was a favorite among most of the other seven. During this movie, a strange event had began, causing a large earthquake and other strange anomalies to occur. In the wake of these events, a transdimensional rift opened within the theatre, sucking all of the eight with the exception of Jason. During her own experiences, Nina found she was apparently sucked into Hell itself for a brief time. She managed to meet the Saiya-jin Radditz, who had been getting hammered by the evil Dodoria. After blindsiding Dodoria, she goes to help Radditz, when both are sucked back through the portal, and dumped back at the theatre. She awakens to find Radditz has come back with her, and that her other friends have brought people of their own back with them, including Paula, Goku, Vegeta, #17, Mr. Buu, Heero, Dwayne, Steve and Piccolo. The 18 of them combined into a larger group upon learning from Dusty, Steve and Dwayne that apparently the many universes and worlds have merged into one. After a night at the hotel, Nina also learns Paula might have similar types of experiences as she did from the look in her eyes. The next day, they all decide to return to Canton by plane, due to the Earthquake and the merger doing damage to parts of Tokyo as well.

Saga 2:

After arriving back at Canton, 2 more days pass before Nina is invited over to Goku and Vegeta's house along with most of the others to learn how to use ki, which ends up giving her an alternative method of flying. In her giddiness, she flies off before she can be called over for training to sense and mask her ki. She is then seen again helping to calm down Vernon after his feral transformation to a Super Saiya-jin during a losing spar with #17. She is then seen again on 9/11, learning her friends are all returning to school for one day to let them all know they are alright, before leaving again for an unspecified amount of time for more training. However the horrifying events of September 11th occur, the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, the crash of Flight 93 in Pennsylvania, and then finally a fourth, more personal attack aimed at fellow Misfit Dan Laubacher, disguised in the form of an innocent UPS delivery worked named Teresa Hamilton. If it had not been for Paula and Nina, Teresa, Dan and Devin would've been killed by the operative watching close by, trying to make sure Teresa had done her job in any way she could. Although the operative had shot Paula to the ground and knocked her for a loop, Nina had caught him by surprise, firing a magic blast from her ring which had tore a hole through him, leaving him on the verge of death. The operative tried to blow Nina up in a suicidal explosion, but had failed due to her stronger powerlevel at the time. After Clint later disposed of a final backup plan of Al-Qaeda, and Radditz had saved Teresa's captured family, Nina and Paula agreed to train each other in a place of their choosing, knowing they too needed to get stronger in order to help the world in its' times of need, however before they could start, Nina decided to go to the Red Dog, a tavern near Clint's house to get a drink of liquor to get over the day's events. She manages to oversee a drinking contest between Goku and Vegeta, the latter of which intentionally gets drunk to get over the events of the day as well. After the night is over, Vegeta is passed out, and Nina is mildly frazzled, while Goku is totally unaffected, except for constant trips to the bathroom.

The next day, she and Paula begin their own training. Nina uses her Gravity Wave in order to increase the gravity around both of them in various increments, a process much similar to the kinds of methods used by Goku and Vegeta in the past. One time Paula asks Nina why they don't just train with the others. Nina explains that in her times of the past, she has learned of the concept of male pride, and she believes letting their friends know about their training might bring about undesired results, including their friends trying to coax them out of it, or taking offense to their methods. She also explains that Clint's group is not ready yet to undergo the same methods as she and Paula since they have not personally had a form of Hell to deal with in their own pasts, unlike Paula and Nina have. Nina and Paula also exchange some information about each other, including their worst enemies, and some of their own specific experiences. Nina also reveals she has the ability to use Magic, and Paula reveals of her own ability to use PK. In the training that ensues, it is believed Nina is slightly stronger than Paula, and has a superior magic ability, although Paula appears to far outclass Nina in speed and PK usage. After about 3 or 4 days of training, Dan is suddenly possessed by Oyatsu, the same person who apparently tipped off Dan to Al-Qaeda on the 11th. Using Dan's body, Oyatsu is able to defeat and capture all the Misfits with the exception of Teresa and #18. Although Nina is not fully subdued, she is hit by a blast of the Concussion Pulse Gun, and rendered with little means to fight, causing Teresa to pick up her reins until #18 arrives and finally defeats Oyatsu and saving the rest of them. After freeing their friends, they are prepared to get more in tune with their powers than before, knowing that Oyatsu, despite defeat, has managed to run away, with no way of tracing him.

Saga 3:

Later on that day, Nina is asked by #18 to accompany her around the city looking for shopping centers and malls. Nina begrudgingly goes to Canton Centre Mall, which she personally thinks has been declining for a long while. Paula is also invited along on this shopping trip, and Nina learns of Paula's love for teddy bears, but both also run into Harry, Morgan and Rowan, although neither side determines the other to be a threat at the moment. Nina however appears to recognize them better than anyone else. She later also comes in after Paula helps Clint defeat Rowan during a later conflict, but also reprimanding Clint about challenging him so foolhardily. However after Clint reveals they are likely responsible for the condition of his old neighborhood, his original house, and potentially the disappearance of a storage of his family's property, she apologizes for her harsh words and actions, and decides to have the three go to Goku. Nina learns she and the other Misfits have the potential to learn how to use Goku's special trump attack, the Kaioken, a powerlevel multiplying technique. Nina manages in her first hour of training to reach a base Kaioken, but she is still having trouble progressing any further.

Closing:

In short, Nina is the epitome of being a Misfit. Her abnormally large height and her wings are only two of many reasons she is shunned by others and considered different. She is also shunned by people of not just one, but two worlds, either by those who think she is a freak, or those who are afraid of the curse her wings supposedly bare. This is why she is considered to be the "Prime Misfit", and the keeper of the group's namesake. Due to this nature, she also tends to like keeping a close vigil on the others.
