Personality: Clint was more or less mostly one who went along with the flow
of things before he truly began to become a Misfit. Due to his own past, he feels deflated somewhat due to the fact that he believes the best parts of his life were in his childhood where he could actually explore the city of Canton to his own whims. Although he has really never suffered from personal tragedies on an unfair level, his outer family
of older relatives have recently been shrinking away around him, and it was this that led to his move to the district where he met the rest of his fellow Misfits. Also, Clint is capable of expressing great anger at such injustices as the defiling of his original neighborhood by Rowan and the Crips, and the fact they were using his first house, and probably many other abandoned houses in the area to hide their stuff from unprying eyes. Although he has warmed up to the idea of being a Misfit, his experiences with Al-Qaeda's attack on Dan have left him slightly more than bitter with them. Oddly enough, he tends to blend in well with Devin and Dwayne, although this might have to do with the fact he trains with them nearly every day now. He is also one of the few original Misfits who doesn't show a negative outlook for Virgil(Dusty being the other
at this time).
Biography: The Beginning of an Era:
Clint is likely the character with the most history known about himself in
the story if you count any of the Original Misfits. He has lived within the
Canton, Ohio area the entirety of his 17-year life, but has recently moved to a
trailer owned by his grandparents in the community of 'Fohl Village' in
early-mid 2000. His grandfather having died of a series of heart-attacks and his
grandmother having died 5 years before, had left the trailer passed down to him
and his family, forcing them to move from the main portion of the Canton City
District, into the Canton South District. However, these events were directly
responsible for the hands of cards dealt to him by fate itself.
Due to his new location, he was enrolled as a late student in Canton South
High School in the last grading period of his Freshman year, and during the
first 2 months at CSHS, Clint met with Devin and Vernon, the first two of the
Original Misfits that he got to know. Although he was weary of them at first
since he was the new guy in the group, he soon grew to become friends with them.
He also met Mr. Paul Summers and Ms. Patti Stryker, two of his favorite
teachers. However they were not the first. As Clint proceeded into his Sophomore
year, he had originally come from the Canton City School District in a
partial-academic slump. Although most of his early school life showed him to be
very smart and perceptive, he began to hit a rebellious stage during the late
half of his Middle-School phase, which also weighed down on his performance
during all of his Freshman year and a small portion of his Sophomore year.
In the next school-year, he would also meet Alex and Jason for the first
time, meeting Alex in mid-January of 2001, and Jason shortly after. Alex and
Clint had met in their art class, and Clint had been oddly attracted towards
Alex due to him being the only student in the school to come to school in a
wheelchair. Having a strange sympathy for him due to his own grandmother having
Parkinson's Disease in her late life and having to use a wheelchair of her own
to get around, Clint and Alex soon became friends through their shared interests
in both wrestling and anime. It was also Alex who revealed Clint to the world of
Dragonball, and is the true reason Clint knows as much as he does about it to
this day, his knowledge having even surpassed Alex's, at least in his own mind.
Jason on the other hand was a little harder to make friends with, as both he and
Alex were tough to deal with when paired together, the two of them having the
tendency to pick on the less intelligent kids and the retarded ones, much to
Clint's chagrin.
In the same year, he also met up with Dusty and Dan, but unfortunately, he
would also meet up with Alex's greatest arch-nemesis, Jackson McCarakins, who had
also been in his Freshman year. Also, during that same year, the rebellious
nature within Clint that he had enrolled into South with had suddenly vanished,
and Clint had suddenly 'grew up' extremely fast, much to Jason and Alex's
annoyance, the two of them loving the concept of being immature and young, and
Clint and Alex often argued about such things over their time as friends.
However, in April of that year, the greatest surprise of their lives to that
point happened, and Clint, Alex, Vernon, Jason, Devin, Dusty and Dan were
suddenly confronted at CSHS by a strange visitor: an attractive, though
large-winged girl of immense height of 6'6", a regal appearance, and a strange
knack for the supernatural. The girl revealed her identity as Nina, and she
quickly made friends with the bunch. Over time, the eight met together so often
that they realized that they all have a form of social disorder among them
around their peers that they could been seen as "Misfits", and with that very
thought, Nina officially gave the group that very name, beginning the Legacy of
the Misfits, at least in identity.
The school-year ended, and during such, Clint had learned that Nina had truly
possessed Magical powers, having found some way to cure the Cerebral Palsy that
afflicted Alex and had kept his walking ability restrained and had forced him to
use his wheelchair while at school. Additionally, as the new school-year had
kicked in, a new arrival known as Virgil Jones arrived, and was cautiously
accepted into the group. However one event changed everything. A television
network known as Cartoon Network, had a special anime-devoted block called
Toonami, which had at that time decided to host a special drawing contest, with
help from his art teachers, including a recent addition in the past year known
as Mr. Chris Bergert, Clint had entered a piece into the contest. The prize,
which Clint ended up winning, was a trip for 8 to Tokyo, Japan, and a special
presentation of the origin of anime itself. Clint asked all of his friends to
come along, but Virgil refused, and Nina accepted his spot, and the eight of
them had began to make their way to California, where a plane to Tokyo would be
waiting for them. Little did the eight of them realize the contest was the
precursor to a far greater phenomenon...
The Misfits:
Prologue and Saga 1:
Clint and his seven friends head to Japan on the plane from California in the
Prolouge, and arrive in the Shibuya-ku district of Tokyo at the start of Part 1.
After a short conversation, Clint, Alex, Devin, Vernon and Jason head to Shonen
Jump Headquarters, to meet Dragonball and Dr. Slump creator Akira Toriyama,
while Nina goes to shop for clothes, and Dusty and Dan head to a small anime
convention with the Hachiko Towers. While meeting with Toriyama, Clint and his
sub-group learn the creator knows English perfectly when he starts speaking to
them with it. The meeting seems to go over well and many of the groups personal
questions are answered, and Toriyama even draws a few personal drawings of some
of the Dragonball characters for each of them, and gives them his calling card
for later contact.
The eight friends re-meet at the Hachiko Towers, and decide to attend the
presentation about the origin of anime, an old-style movie which is found by
most of them to be quite boring, until Alex and Jason get into a shoving match
and Alex is shoved into the movie projector, knocking it over and breaking it.
During the chaos that results, a powerful 6.7 earthquake begins to shake
everything in an erratic pattern uncommon of normal earthquakes. The screen in
the theater suddenly flashes an overwhelming light which blinds and
incapacitates all eight of them. Suddenly, the screen seems to form into a
singularity, and sucks all of them with the exception of Jason into it,
separating them for a while. Clint's personal experience in the portal lands him
in the middle of a strange park, where the residents freak-out upon his arrival,
claiming him to be a 'slave of the invaders of old'. However before Clint can
try to quell them, he is suddenly attacked when a girl clad in pink throws a
frying pan right in his face, knocking him out instantly. The girl is revealed
to be Paula, who soon discovers he is just an unfortunate victim of the portals,
and that she made a mistake. However, another portal suddenly opens up around
Paula and the unconscious Clint, sending them both back to the movie theatre in
the Hachiko Towers, where Clint wakes up and finds that not only is Paula there
with him, but many other 'fictional' people, and even a couple of real
celebrities, like Dwayne and Steve had somehow appeared with his own friends.
After a myriad of explanations and exposition, the newly combined group of
eighteen make their way to a nearby hotel to spend the night to think over the
events.
During the night, many of the characters, Clint included, come to the
realization that the anomaly they experienced in the theatre was a type of
'merger of universes', and information from Dusty, Dwayne and Steve makes Clint
consider just what the future holds for all of them. The next morning, Clint
offers that they all just return to Canton, the vacation ruined by the odd
events, and that dealing with their new arrivals will be more than enough to
make up for it. His friends and Goku's half of the group come to the agreement
to head back to Canton. After 2 separate plane trips home, one of which
unknowingly almost brought to a terrifying halt by a strange boy with orange
eyes, the eighteen arrive safely back in Canton, and split off temporarily, some
of them finding residence with Clint's own friends, ending Saga 1.
Saga 2:
Saga 2 begins with Goku and Vegeta training most of the other Misfits to
utilize their Ki and to learn the art of flight. However most of them, Clint
included, are so uplifted from what they had learned already and take off
unexpectedly, missing out of training of how to sense ki energy and how to mask
it. Clint later is seen in Part 4 doing training by himself, however to the
later amazement of Goku, he has learned how to sense ki energy on his own, with
some minor help from watching the show, but he has not gotten the hand of
masking his own energy, a problem that plagues him throughout the entirety of
Saga 2. He appears for a bit in Part 5, teaming up oddly enough with Jason to
play a strange joke on Alex, Vernon and Devin by slipping a voice serum Jason
created into some of their drinks, changing their voices to that of chipmunks
for around 1 hour. However Paula comes upon their plan, able to sense their
energy signatures, and gives both Clint and Jason a painful punishment via a
frying pan to the head. Clint is then hit a second time, while Jason's punishment is left to the others,
and she takes Clint back to his house, where Goku later catches up with both and
gives Clint a sensu bean so he can be in fine shape for his return to school the
next day. Clint decides at that point to sleep the rest of the day off, not
planning on participating in anymore jokes for a while, and his parents ask
Paula to keep him out of trouble in the future, much to his chagrin.
However, to the dismay of Clint and every single Misfit in the group, the
next day happens to be the day of the September 11th attacks, which hit and
eventually destroy both towers of the World Trade Center in New York City,
destroy part of the Pentagon, and crash another plane into a field in
Pennsylvania. Additionally, on that same day, Dan is also attacked by a
disguised Al-Qaeda attack in the form of Teresa Hamilton, a UPS delivery driver
being threatened with the lives of her family to force her to try to kill Dan.
After the situation is resolved and the operatives destroyed, the group learns
one of the operatives managed to arm an experimental bomb attached to Teresa that
had the power to destroy anything within a 12 mile radius. Without thinking,
Clint freaks out and grabs the bomb, plowing straight up into the air, intending
to get the bomb away from his friends, even willing to sacrifice his own life to
do it. However unknown to his knowledge, he undergoes a shocking change during
the process, and successfully gets the bomb thrown out of Earth's atmosphere,
but is unable to escape its shockwave, and is sent plowing into the football
field of CSHS. However Clint has survived, and has maintained his shocking
change. Somehow, Clint has attained a form almost identical to the Super
Saiya-jin transformation, despite unanimous claims he lacks the Saiya-jin's
distinct feel to his ki. Clint realizes there are things about himself still
unanswered he must someday solve, as the group, plus Teresa re-meet in the
school and discuss a harsher training regimen. Clint meets the principal of
CSHS, Mr. Thomas Knight, and explains to him that they will be gone for an
unknown amount of time, the principal having been told of the merger ahead of
time and of the new things happening to the Misfits, and he wishes them luck, as
Part 6 ends.
From Part 7 and beyond, Clint decides to group with Devin, Dwayne, Steve,
Heero, Dusty and Virgil, the latter having now finally agreed to learn how to
fight, as a combined training group, bent on making sure attacks like the kind
pulled by Al-Qaeda can never happen again. Devin eventually brings them to a
large vacant lot close to his own home, which becomes their primary training
spot during the rest of Saga 2. During the training that follows, Clint and
Devin become more direct training partners, and a spar involving both of them
with Virgil as an odd-man out causes them to learn of a potential hidden power
within Devin, which seems to only surface briefly during dire bouts of stress.
In Part 10, Clint learns further more about his strange Super Saiya-jin-like
form, in that Oyatsu's 'Durty Durt Dur' Curse does not completely work against
him, as his power still remained around 40% of his maximum. Clint also reveals
his ability to use the Kienzan and tries to buy time for Vernon and Jason to
arrive to help, but Oyatsu tricks Dusty into making Clint reveal his true
strategy, and in the end, thanks to an unfortunate foresight by Oyatsu, Clint is
defeated, along with most of the other Misfits, only to be freed by #18, Nina
and Teresa at the end of the part. After this experience, it makes Clint think
things over, and he decides it might be time to do one of the things he has
wanted to do since moving out of the main city of Canton a few years ago...
Saga 3:
Part 11 has Clint flying around throughout the main city of Canton, analyzing
old places of interest, as well as new ones. This thought eventually leads him
to a local Video Safari, where he has a brief meeting with Mr. Bergert, ending
with a cryptic message, and then meeting an old teacher of his from his
middle-school. During this, Paula senses him, his location very close to her own
house in Canton, and she arrives to investigate. Although still aversive to
Paula due to their past encounters, he explains of his current intentions to
explore Canton, including checking up on the other two houses he used to live
in. Paula decides with nothing else to do to accompany him. However it turns out
by a strange twist of fate that Paula moved into one of the two houses Clint
used to live in, the second of the two, which he had lived in for about a full
year, and before he moved to Canton South. To his embarrassment though, Paula
has turned his old bedroom into a teddy bear emporium, however he laughs it off,
and he learns she and him share a mutual dislike of spiders, and talk about the
house. He learns Paula completely bought the house, and owns it completely,
where as Clint's family had paid rent to a landlord who owned it in the past. Paula
however grows tired, partially from the Oyatsu fiasco and a recent trip with
Nina and #18 to the mall and goes to sleep, and Clint silently sneaks away to
head to his first and original house, where he lived for the majority of his
life. However to his dismay, his old neighborhood is extremely run down, many
places abandoned or boarded up, and some places even missing, including an old
storage garage where Clint's family had up to then had stored excess stuff they
couldn't take with them when they moved. Clint also finds Paula had followed
behind him, and after a minor confrontation, she convinces him to forgive her
mistake in Part 1 completely, and the two seem to begin a close friendship, and
he offers reluctantly to show her around, finding his old house intact. However
to his surprise, Paula discovers one of the doors to his house is still
unlocked, and they wearily enter and explore, Clint giving a tour at the same
time. However as they look around, they find clues that Clint's old house is not
as abandoned as first thought. Soon, they discover people are closing in on the
house, and Clint realizes they are members of the Crips, a national gang of
youth with a division in Canton. From this, they learn the Crips division is
using Clint's house and a few others in his neighborhood both as bases and
storage facilities to protect their property from their mortal enemies, the
Bloods. In anger, Clint reveals a strange note of information that seems to
involve Paula's past, something she was surprised to learn he even knew about,
and she begins to pressure him into telling her this info, however they have to
make a quick escape from the house, and Paula speeds them both back to her house
where he explains that he apparently knows who she is and of some of her past,
including some of her worst enemies, and her other friends. After clearing up
all of the confusion, Paula suddenly has a vision that some important item is
being hidden in Clint's house, and convinces him to go with her to retrieve it.
In doing so, they find a lot of money, pill-bottles of a strange powder, but
most peculiarly, a Jade Ring, which they learn the gang-leader Rowan boasts has
incredible powers, enough to "make him into a god". However when Rowan and two
of his associates, Harry and Morgan return unexpectedly, a chase begins, Clint
asking that Paula take the stuff they nabbed back to her place, while he
distracts Rowan and his friends into thinking he was the culprit. After a
goose-chase to Waterworks Park, Clint manages to overpower Morgan and holds him
hostage, forcing Rowan and Harry to stand down for a short time. Rowan is angry
at the disappearance of the ring, which Clint says he threw over two parks away,
not having a use for it. The three gang members appear to go away to look for
it, but Clint anticipates a back-attack, and takes a bullet to the back of his
head unharmed, much to the horrified shock of Harry. Rowan notes Clint is
stronger than he looks, however also reveals he too has powers of his own,
including mastery over ki, something that Clint had though only he and the other
Misfits knew due to the obscurity of the merger. He then learns from Rowan that
Oyatsu had revealed the nature of the merger to them and taught him how to use
Ki. With the Durty Durt Dur Curse still affecting him, and unable to transform,
Clint is almost defeated and killed in the fight, but Paula arrives at the last
moment, and easily hands Rowan's ass to him on a platter, scaring them all away
in the process, however Clint is not able to tell her of Oyatsu's involvement in
time, and Paula realizes Rowan and his friends will likely return. Although
the situation is resolved for the time being, Nina suddenly arrives, and
wordlessly slaps Clint patronizingly for challenging Rowan so stupidly, having
known of his magical abilities. However she softens up after she learns of
Rowan's atrocities straight from a mad Clint. The three of them decide to leave
the area and find Goku, who is currently giving the others Kaioken lessons
alongside North Kaio. During the training, Clint manages to eep out a basic
Kaioken, but he cannot get any further. After a aware ceremony, he earns a Blue
Overclocked Scouter from Vegeta for his efforts in the last few days. He then
returns to his home for the time being... Closing:
Although he is not by any means the strongest of the Misfits, he is one of
the more knowledgeable and well-rounded of the group. It is uncertain of his
future, and of the origin of his ability to mimic the Super Saiya-jin level, but
time can only answer that... |
