Full Name:
Virgil Anson I. Jones (2nd?)
Misfit #: 19
First Appearance:
Part 5
Race: Human
Eyes: Black
Hair: Black
Age: 14
Birthday: May 24, 1987 (?)
Height: 5'54/5" (167.15cm)
Weight: 277 lbs (125.6kg)
Parents: Virgil Anson Jones (father), Cathy June Jones (mother)
Pets: Unknown
Current Status: Alive, back at his own house
I.Q.: 157
Elemental Strengths: Unknown
Elemental Weaknesses: Unknown
Who has a Crush on Him?: None
Who hates him?: None
His Advantages: His size makes him harder for an equal level opponent to
fight and harm. He can cause tremors by smashing his weight into the ground.
People tend to underestimate his intellect since he likes to act loopy and
retarded as a ploy.
His Disadvantages: He is very slow to learn some strategies and New Abilities(although to his credit he DID learn the Kaioken in his first teaching session,
when almost everyone else thought he wouldn't be able to do it)
His Likes: Eating, Calling people random names, Hitting things with
Devin's mallet
His Dislikes: Jackson, Alex, people who hate on him due to his size,
people calling him retarded
His Fears: Unknown
Hobbies: Meandering around and trying to get on his friends' nerves. Hitting
people with Devin's mallet.
Favorite Food[s]: Most foods in general he will eat without complaint.
Favorite Vehicle[s]: Vintage Corvettes.
Closest friend in the Misfits: None (at least in HIS opinion, however
Dusty seems to believe Virgil is more than he appears
and holds a more positive view of his potential. Also,
Clint is nowhere near as harsh to him as most of the others, and too
believes Virgil can amount to something)
Primary Motivation for Being a Misfit: Anger at Al-Qaeda for attacking
America and his friends convinced him to officially take up the mantle of being
a Misfit.
Quote: (to Devin) "I'll hit you with that thing soon
enough Devin. And trust me, it's not going to be pretty!"
Abilities: BukujutsuJAP, KaiokenJAP (basic)
Personality: Virgil is apparently among the lowest ranking among the
original Misfits, both in the area of tact, and common sense, and apparently
also starts out the most out of shape, by far surpassing Devin or Dusty in the
"Fat" area, according to Alex. He has the
tendency to spout strange insults at people who annoy him, such as calling
people a "Trash Can", or saying they "smoke telephone poles". This strange
behavior he exhibits, added onto his small, round and fatty exterior seems to
make people assume he is mentally retarded to a large extent, but some people,
including Dusty seem to believe this is merely the 'skin' covering up Virgil's
real personality. Part of this comes from the fact he does seem to come up with
clever ideas that impress even people like Clint or Devin once in a blue moon.
More evidence of this comes from Alex, who states Virgil as a child "ran circles
around me in math, and was skinnier than Devin", however, it seems Virgil has
for some reason lost both the physical and mental edges he had as a child, or
has pushed it beneath and decided to show his retarded persona to confuse
people. Ironically, he is the least bothered Misfit when antagonist Jackson
McCarakins is involved. Jackson rarely ever talks about Virgil in a negative or
positive manner, and there is a possibility they might have known each other in
the past, or that Jackson, like Dusty, believes the same theory about the 'skin'
of Virgil's personality.
Biography: The Beginning of an Era:
Not a huge amount is known about Virgil's past. What is known however is that
Alex and Virgil first actually met in Grade-school. It is also said by Alex that
Virgil was much more in shape and smarter than Alex in math, saying "he ran
circles around me". However since then to this point in time, his has gotten
substantially larger and fatter, and his intelligence seemed to have initially
dropped. However some, like Dusty and sometimes Clint, believe he is merely
hiding this from everyone as a ploy. Even Jackson believes there is much more
positive aspect to Virgil than many of his other friends and allies currently
do, and both are even to this day on mostly positive terms with each other.
The Misfits:
Prologue and Saga 1:
Virgil is not seen or heard from during the Prolouge or Parts 1 and 2,
although according to later parts in the story, he was offered the chance to go
to Japan with the others, but blatantly refused it, lacking an interest in both
the country and the concept of anime.
Saga 2:
Virgil does not appear in parts 3 or 4. He first appears at the end of Part
5, revealed to be the prankster who calls Alex's house twice, Radditz once,
Steve and Dwayne once, and Paula also once. Alex, Vernon, Devin, Steve, Dwayne,
Radditz and Paula confront him over the events, and he reveals he pranked them
because the group never returned to school to let him know they were okay after
the return from Japan, and that the pranks were his way of getting them back and
reminding them he wasn't going to just take it laying down. However he
receives a small beat down from Alex, Devin, Steve and Dwayne. Vernon however
although present to witness this, does not partake in his punishment and leaves,
and Paula is
courteous enough to take him back into his house however, showing even Virgil is
not completely hated by the group.
He does not appear during most of part 6, and only does after the attack on
Dan by Al-Qaeda and after Clint's heroic saving of Canton from their
experimental bomb. Virgil decides that he is not going to tolerate Al-Qaeda's
attempt to destroy them and decides against apparently his original feelings and
decides to start training and truly become a Misfit.
In Part 7, Virgil is grouped with Clint, Devin, Steve, Dwayne, Heero, and
Dusty. Devin mostly starts his training off, having to deal with Virgil's
various zaniness as he teaches the lesser Misfit how to manipulate and hold
control of his ki, and then how to fly, but even Virgil manages to master flying
within a couple of days of time. His next task to catch up with the others is
not nearly as easy though, being given weighted clothing in order to help train
himself.
In Part 8, Devin fits up stronger weighted clothing, and also fashions a
special weighted mallet for Virgil to use, identical in concept to the mallets
Goku used during training on North Kaio's planet to hit Gregory, except that
Devin takes Gregory's place as the target, trying to teach Virgil tactics on top
of making him stronger, to which he has not gotten the hang of it yet.
In Part 9, Virgil continues his training with the weighted mallet, and during
one exchange, Clint spars with Devin, with Virgil mediating as a third party who
can attack either one with the mallet if they are with his range. He doesn't get
any hits, but his intervention does play out in deciding Clint as the victor of
the match, as Devin was thrown more into Virgil's range of attack than Clint
was. In later times, it's revealed Virgil has actually lost some weight from the
training, a fact that makes Alex rather shocked, although Virgil doesn't appear
to have actually lost weight.
In Part 10, Virgil is assigned to chase Heero around with the mallet, as
Devin wanted to actually do normal training for once. However their day is
ruined with Dan, possessed by Oyatsu comes in. Virgil actually manages to hit
Oyatsu with the mallet, but breaks it on his head, and is KOed with one sudden
hit, captured easily by the shapeshifting possessor. He is later freed when
Nina, Teresa and #18 defeat Oyatsu, freeing Dan, and then allowing them to free
the others. Virgil returns to training with Devin's group at the end of the
part.
Saga 3:
However, in Part 11 later that day, Devin's group, Virgil included, Clint
excluded at first, decides to go to Goku when they sense him using the Kaioken
ability. Virgil however is widely believed by all of the currently gathered
group, even Goku himself, to be incapable of doing to move with as new and
inexperienced he is. However Virgil pulls off a miracle, and manages to do a basic
Kaioken (x1.5). He also learns how to sense and mask ki energies as well that
day. Closing:
Although his experience is poor at best, Virgil has shown he is not yet a
completely lost cause to the Misfits, especially with his miraculous Kaioken
usage. Perhaps this is a sign of sorts that Virgil is starting to break his old
limits at last. |
