Personality [In Depth]:
         Though Ted appears to have a somewhat laid-back personality, he is not without his history. Born to a middle-class family who happen to be connected on friendly terms with the Bates family, a very upper-class family, Ted and his family have had to resist the temptation to let the Bates family offer to carry them through life. However he is still best friends with their slightly younger daughter Lisa, who has had a very strong influence on him, mostly for better, maybe a bit more concern. Ted considers Lisa to be the most important person in his life, possibly sans his own family, and will protect her with his life if she should come to mortal danger. Thankfully, Lisa's resourcefulness and skill in combat usually means this is a VERY rare occurrence, but it's not impossible to occur, especially again a more extraterrestrial threat like the Triocladiar.
         When he was younger, Ted was much more timid and closed off from other kids, leaving him a sort of target to various elementary-school bullies. Ted was too timid for the longest time to fight them off on his own and kept being subjected to their torment, so Lisa felt she had to take the initiative by first giving some of the bullies pestering him the what-to, and then teaching Ted to mount up his own courage and stand up to others. Although he has greatly improved around similar kinds of bullies and such people as he's grown up, it has gotten him in the rare fight or two with them, causing a slight bit of tension between him and the staff of his middle school, and some of his high-school teachers are concerned he might one day get into a fight, though this has not yet happened due to Ted's more laid-back nature. His parents do tend to look more positively on what Lisa's lessons have pushed into him, but they are a little concerned she goes a bit too far for his sake from time to time.
         Ted also grew to take a fondness to action movies as a child, both during his timid phase, and even more so after coming out of his shell. For some reason, movies with explosive action scenes caught his attention the most, both figuratively AND literally, causing Ted to slowly gain an appreciation for explosives, bombs and other forms of accelerants involved in their use. He truly dreams of becoming a demolitionist as he grows up, but he's also not too cold to building things from base materials, allowing him to procure a part-time job as a construction worker, even at the age of 17. His love for explosives became near-legendary that he's studied dozens of different bomb-building methods and he has even seen himself as a sort of anti-Unibomber: a bomb-user that uses his bomb-making talents for good purposes and to protect humanity instead of wrecking havoc on it. The fact Lisa's cousin Cameron also taught him some military-specific lessons on explosive-making doesn't make his feelings on the matter diminish.
         Another important figure that's become prominent in his life is Duke Nukem himself. Whereas Jack is a lot less prone to imitating Duke's less pleasant traits of machismo, Ted, being older, has from time to time emulated certain bad behaviors from Duke, much to Lisa's chagrin, also leading Lisa to have some hidden contention towards Duke at first early on in the story. However Ted still comes to understand Duke and him are different people and he can't totally copy the alien-ass-kicker's traits, especially when Duke explains he needs to make his own way as a growing man and not copy from him or others. With Lisa and Duke's advices in mind, he works to find the best balance he can amongst his awkward team of friends, among them including his best friend and one of his pop-culture heroes, and hopes to also bring them closer as allies, knowing of the contention Lisa initially has for Duke...

Appearance: Ted stands at around average height for his age, at six feet even. He has short-cut dirty-blond hair with slightly messy bangs in front, his eyes are a teal/green color. He also wears a yellow cotton-top shirt with a rounded rectangular shape of dark orange and black inside of it, and with an unknown brand name written down both his sleeves in large letters. He also wears black denim shorts of moderate fashion-design. He is slimmer than Duke, but a little more toned than Jack, though not that muscular in general, and seems to have little if any body hair, his mostly exposed legs completely free of hair. He also wears light-green and dark-green blended tennis shoes with orange laces.
