Personality [In Depth]:
     Though most of Duke's fans and casual observers get the idea that Duke is hyper-masculine, egotistical and a machismo-filled womanizer from his public endeavors, Duke is not quite as over the top as they think. Originally, Duke's personality, while still somewhat of a womanizer in his youth, started off a lot less egotistical and not quite as masculine, though Duke never let anyone call him a wimp behind his back in High School either. Duke did not start developing his more 'extreme' traits until sometime between the battles with the Rigelatins [the aliens of Duke Nukem 2] and the Triocladiar [the aliens of Duke Nukem 3D as they are called in NR], and was a lot more laid back before such events. The constant wars with alien races have tempered him into a somewhat bitter man in public, especially the Triocladiar race due to their persistence in pestering him and trying to invade the Earth. Due to this, he has no reserve with mercilessly taunting his alien enemies when things are going down crap-creek for them, especially if he's the reason for it.
     However a not so noticed trait of Duke's that brings him down to Earth is both his patriotism for American society, and further more, his look on the quality of human life. Even when battling Dr. Dimitrius Proton in the original Duke Nukem, Duke only wanted to put him away in a dark place, and never intended to kill Proton unless there was no choice. When Proton eventually ended up meeting his end on a bed of spikes in their final battle, Duke actually felt sad for Proton, knowing the reports he had been turned insane by his experiments at Area 51, and sometimes wishes the outcome was different.
     Further adding to Duke's surprising humanity towards his fellow human was shown during his first fights with the Triocladiar, where he found several Earth women in various forms of peril. Most were captured and subdued by the Triocladiar in pods or tied against organic poles of tentacles, some of them apparently even infected by alien parasites. When begged of by these captive women to kill them to put them out of this misery [since the EDF had not made teleporter coils nor had the understanding of technology to cure these inflictions yet], Duke somberly filled their requests and did so, embittering him in ways he might never recover from.
     All in all, behind his proud, womanizing mask in public, Duke desperately seeks an end to the conflicts between himself and aliens, sometimes wishing the combat were against evil people of his own kind, such as Dr. Proton or the various enemy combatants in the First Gulf War, instead of extraterrestrials. Furthermore, he will take any and all opportunities to lie down and take a vacation. He prefers tropical climates where lots of bikini babes hang out, but he won't complain too much for a simple, peaceful stay in the wilderness either if he has no choice.

Appearance: Duke is six feet and three inches tell, and rather muscular, although his muscles are still smaller than some more well-known bodybuilders. His hair is blond, in a flat-top military style, reminiscent of his upbringing in the armed forces. He usually wears a pair of sunglasses, but when not wearing them, his eyes are a dull blue and seem slightly unnatural-looking to those who are used to him wearing the sunglasses. He wears a red wifebeater, blue jeans, and specialized black boots. He also wears a bandolier that bears the "Nuclear" symbol on the belt buckle, and it is one of his main sources of ammo-holding equipment. He can also be seen on occasion smoking a cigar and enjoys them when he can, but he only smokes one when he truly feels he is able to relax, because he feels he needs to be in as well shape for fighting aliens or other enemies as he can, and thus he has to keep cigar consumption down to a minute level.

     (Passive) Toxic Revenge - Duke does 4 times normal damage to his enemies when standing in Toxic Waste[NEWFLOORSLIME].
     (Passive) Toxic Revenge Mark 2 - Duke does 10 times normal damage to his enemies when standing in Purple Acid[PURPLELAVA].
