Personality: It is not certain if the form Oyatsu takes at the time has any effect on its' personality or not. Aside from its time possessing Dan, we do not get to see a large amount of Oyatsu at a level we can discern a personality for it. It is worth noting that Oyatsu did have a bout or two with insanity while it had possessed Dan, once during its battle with Goku and Vegeta, and the second time after it was apparently able to shove Dan's power to that of a Super Saiya-jin 3. Apparently the transformation for whatever reason had a less-than-desirable effect on Oyatsu. Had it not been so insane, it might have been able to detect the arrival of #18. Although Oyatsu's sanity returned after dispersing from Dan's body, it still gives us little understanding of its true motives and desires.

Biography:

The Beginning of an Era:

Not much is really known about Oyatsu's past prior to its appearance in The Misfits. However according to it, it hails from the same universe as Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, #17, #18 and Mr. Buu. It is also known that Oyatsu was a student at the same shapeshifting academy as Oolong and Puar were. It states that Oolong screwed up too much, but admits if Puar had attended longer that she'd have more potential. It on the other hand kept training and studying its shapeshifting powers. Oyatsu has not elaborated on exactly on how it came to find out about the Z-senshi, although one theory has to do with following either Puar or Oolong around during the early Dragonball era and coming upon either Goku, Bulma or Yamcha, and then following their adventures closely since. Due to its ability to blend in so well, not even the strongest of the z-senshi or their enemies had any clue they had been shadowed for a massive proportion of their lives. Oyatsu also has apparently acquired Kaioshin's ability to use the Kai Kai to teleport around at will.

The Misfits:

Prologue and Saga 1:

Oyatsu appears twice during Part 2[although not referred to by a specific name], the first time in the form of a 17-year old teenage boy on the last plane returning to Canton, Ohio in use by the Misfits. During this time, he apparently had plans to blow the plane apart with a stick of dynamite placed within the bathroom, which would've probably killed himself as well, but the turbulent weather ruins his plans, and forces him to have to make a different plan. He appears at the end of Part 2 as well, revealing his ability to change his appearance, as he changes into an 59-year old elderly woman and apparently departs to regions unknown for a time...

Saga 2:

Oyatsu is seen and referred to a few times in Saga 2[although still not by name until Part 10]. Among these forms again include the elderly lady and the young boy, however also now add in the shadowy-dog form, the buck form, and the Chihuahua form. Additionally, it also appears to be able to take on the form of "Blue Domino" and is using said form in a plan to cause confusion and misinformation amongst the Al-queda terrorist network, having come to the conclusion that they are not worthy of their 'birthrights' after their failure to kill Dan in Part 6. In this form, it lies to another operative named "Red Serpent" that Dan is dead, as is Teresa and that the experimental bomb was disarmed, as a ploy to keep Al-queda from attacking Dan and getting in the way of Oyatsu's own plans.

It is revealed directly in Part 10 that Oyatsu is the party responsible for causing Al-Queda to focus their attention on Dan as part of the 9/11 attacks, and in retrospect he is the reason Teresa is used to try to kill him and ends up joining the Misfits instead after the terrorists' plans to kill Dan are thwarted. It is highly believed Oyatsu was in the form of the elderly woman he turned into in Part 2 when he tipped off Al-Queda about Dan, according to what he tells Dan later on in Part 10. He also appears as a strange Buck who is watching tabs on Dan, Radditz, and Teresa's sessions, and tries to use the tensions there to drive a wedge between Dan and Radditz, which ultimately fails. He also takes the form of a Chihuahua as he flees the scene to plan his true attack, which comes later early the next morning.

Oyatsu, now in the form of a black cat, appears to Dan, and acts innocently like a normal feline, prompting the Misfit to pick him up, to which Oyatsu then somehow manages to possess him, and becomes the first true villain of the series, using Dan's latent powers, including a powerful curse known as the "Durty Durt Dur Curse", modeled after one of Jason's sayings, to fend off the Saiya-jin Misfits' ability to use their Super Saiya-jin levels, with the exception of Dan's own version, revealed abruptly to him just after invoking the curse. During his rampage, he attacks and defeats Radditz, Paula, Alex, Heero, Virgil, Steve, Dwayne, Dusty, Clint, Devin, Jason, Vernon, Piccolo, #17, Goku, Vegeta and Mr. Buu before being confronted by first Nina, and then Teresa, who manage to hold off the possessor long enough for #18 to make her much needed appearance and disperse the feline shapeshifter with a surprise blow. However to her dismay, Oyatsu has knowledge of the Kai Kai ability[instanteous movement without need of a ki source], allowing him to escape, and his energy is additionally unsensable in his natural form, meaning he can blend in perfectly and bide his time for a future strike against the Misfits.

Saga 3:

Oyatsu is a subject of discussion throughout Part 11, but is revealed to have even more hand in causing problems for the Misfits in the form of the Crips leader Rowan and his acquaintances. Rowan reveals to Clint that Oyatsu revealed to him the truth about the merger in Japan which brought the Misfits together in the first place, and also reveals Oyatsu taught him how to use Ki energy much like they do, and that he gave Rowan a special enchanted Jade Ring, which was stolen from under his nose by Clint and Paula at an earlier point in time. Unfortunately, Clint fails to reveal this information to Paula before she manages to defeat Rowan and send him and his goons fleeing in terror. Had he told her that information sooner, she'd have likely not let them go, and they would have been removed as a future threat to the Misfits.

Closing:

Despite currently having suffered defeat at the hands of #18 in Part 10, Oyatsu is still very much active, and he seems to have sowed more seeds of chaos than once thought, and it is likely more about his involvement in matters will be revealed as Saga 3 and beyond proceeds forward.
